The Bactaquin has really been helping my 19 year old cat. He hasn't been throwin up like he was and since he is able to keep his food in his stomach, he is doing much better. He doesn't seem to notice that anything is being added to his food, so it must taste good to him. I want to keep him around for as long as I can and the Bactaquin is certainly helping me to achieve this.

Worked well for us

My 2-year old cat developed nasty intestinal issues after receiving a large dose of antibiotics for a respiratory infection. The vet recommended Forti-flora and I tried that for about a month with no success. Then I tried it together with a prebiotic and an anti-diarrheal liquid but, again, no success. Then a friend suggested trying a different type of probiotic. I bought the Bactaquin have been using it together with the prebiotic and anti-diarrheal liquid. It's taken about 8 weeks but finally, my cat seems to be getting back to normal. Because I have been using this product along with 2 others it's impossible to say what exactly did the trick. But since the Forti-flora never worked, there must be something in this one that worked better for my cat.
It's very easy to administer: I just open the capsule and mix it into his wet food once a day: the other wet food meal I use the prebiotic. I've stopped the anti-diarrhea medication but plan to continue with the pre- and probiotics.

Life saving purchase

First of all I trust Nutramax products & Entirely Pets has the best prices on the internet. This product has helped 2 of our cats, one with IBD and one that was lost, she fled while our home was burglarized and was found starving, 6 weeks later. She had gone from 9 to 3 LBS. We are nursing her back to health now and using this product to help regulate her gut, we are pleased with the progress and as always happy doing business with Entirely Pets for their prompt shipping & low prices!!

Effective, but shelf life is a question

I get Bactaquin and another product for my old cat. The Bactaquin is effective at keeping her regular (previously her stools were often watery and SMELLY). So, good product.

Advice: Don't order too far ahead. Because it is a dried live culture, the shelf life is shorter than that of a nutritional supplement. The label says store at 77F or below, but has no info about improving life by refrigeration or freezing. I had two boxes when I ordered the 3-pack (I was running low on the other med), so now I have five boxes all with expiration date of 5/12.
